Way of measuring
In the next few years, SYPO will develop a method to reliably assess the results of small-scale development aid (see results measurement). We hope that the same method can be used by other foundations, so that it will become easier to work result-driven and efficiently. So far the results of the Yoghurt Project is measured in terms of profits of the factory, the number of factory workers (employment), number of orphans adopted and number of women who received cows and thus received an independent income.
.
Results so far
To date, 54 Fresian pregnant cows are given to women in the area, providing 54 women with an independent income. These women become owner of the cow when they give the first female calf to another woman. The first 54 women who have been given a cow and have been evaluated thoroughly have adopted around 70 orphans. Five people are currently working in the factory people, three of them on a full-time basis. The factory is profitable, although profit is still too volatile to provide a clear picture.
