State of Affairs
The first objectives of the Yogurt Project were to set up a functioning yoghurt factory and donate 25 pregnant Friesian cows. In 2008 these objectives were reached. The factory is now fully independent and slowly expanding its production. More than 50 cows have been donated to enable families, which helped them to adopt over 75 orphans. Five people are currently employed by the factory.
Future
Encouraged by the success of orphan adoption by families, SYPO has decided to continue giving pregnant Fresian cows for several years. We will continue to work with our partner organisation for social projects Pat the Child. The factory will continue to run independently and profitably, and in time will enable Pat the Child to continue or start many other social projects.
